The Bill Burns Show – Discussions 14.8. and 22.8.2014

Two discussions organized as a part of The Bill Burns Show at Photographic Gallery Hippolyte

Thursday 14th of August, 5 pm
The Veblen Good

Bill Burns, Taru Elfving and Marja-Terttu Kivirinta discuss topics arising from Burns’ exhibition.
Discussion in English

The Bill Burns Show casts a critical eye on the conditions of production as well as the catalogue of art history. The exhibition asks a question that has no answer: “What do we long for?” Mainly, its bent is anthropological with leanings toward clan (artists, dealers) or tribe (collectors, curators, museums). The work intends to shed light on a set of social and economic relations within the art world that usually go unspoken. ” – Bill Burns
