A presentation by Kristiina Koskentola

Koskentola will introduce and reflect on number of works by Chinese artist from the early years of experimental art in China (1980’s and 1990’s) until today. In the post Tiananmen years many artists used the human body both as a subject and as an explicit political medium. These years marked a departure from tradition and a change in art practice and have great significance for the development of the Chinese art and art scene today.

Kristiina Koskentola is a visual artist and a PhD Candidate in the University of the Arts in London. She lives and works in Amsterdam and Beijing and is currently a participant in the Saari Residency of the Kone Foundation.
