In his works the landscapes of French 17th century paintings and background scenery from cartoons were processed and transformed into a hybrids of highly acclaimed art and kitsch. In his latest work the <em>Natura Morte<\/em> suite, photographs of real animals and natural milieu are manipulated to become a familiar scenography, which at a further glance turns out to have more of an unnatural nature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Fredrik Weerasinghe<\/strong> was born in Malm\u00f6, Sweden and in the 1990s studied fine art, design, architecture and photography at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Academy of Fine Art in Rome and Naples and at The Art Students League in New York. He graduated from Chelsea College of Art &amp; Design (P.G. Dip. in Fine Art) 2001 and from Byam Shaw \/ Central Saint Martins College of Art &amp; Design (Master of Fine Art) 2003, in London.
