This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Award. A total of 24 high-quality applications were received, out of which five finalists were chosen.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists of the Photobook Award 2021 are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elina Brotherus<\/strong>:\u00a0Seabound. A logbook (Kehrer)<br \/>\n<strong>Laura Horelli<\/strong>: Changes in Direction. A Journal (ArchiveBooks)<br \/>\n<strong>Marko H\u00e4m\u00e4l\u00e4inen<\/strong>: Silence moves with the wind<br \/>\n<strong>Niko Luoma<\/strong>: For Each Minute \u2013 Sixty-five Seconds (Hatje Cantz)<br \/>\n<strong>Sheung Yiu<\/strong>: Ground Truth (The Eriskay Connection)<\/p>\n<p>The finalists were selected by a pre-selection jury consisting of museum director\u00a0<strong>Susanna Luojus<\/strong>\u00a0from Salo Art Museum and artists\u00a0<strong>Tuukka Kaila<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Santeri Tuori<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The winner will be chosen by photographic artist\u00a0<strong>paula roush<\/strong> from London. Announcing the winner will take place at an open online event on <strong>Tuesday 19 April at 3 p.m.<\/strong> The winner will be granted a prize of 2,000 euros and the other finalists 500 euros.<\/p>\n<p>More information about the finalists can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/photobookaward.fi\/en\/2021-finalists\/\">Photobook Award website<\/a>. The finalist books are also available for purchase at the gallery&#8217;s bookshop (Yrj\u00f6nkatu 8\u201310) and on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shop.hippolyte.fi\/kirjakauppa\">web shop<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\">The award highlights the book as a form of fine art photography and as an independent art work.\u00a0 Our aim is to encourage and motivate authors of photobooks and to <\/span><span class=\"\">invite the public to become familiar with the art form. The Award will be granted for a high-quality fine art photographic book by a Finnish or Finland based artist.
