The Finnish Museum of Photography<\/strong> and the Association of Photographic Artist’s<\/strong> present the Finnish Photobook Award for the eight consecutive year. Three works were selected as finalists, and two additional works received a special mention.<\/p>\n The three finalists of the Photobook Award 2024 are:<\/strong><\/p>\n Henri Airo:\u00a0<\/strong>War is a Disaster<\/em> Special mentions were given to:<\/p>\n Mikael Siiril\u00e4:\u00a0<\/strong>Here in Absence<\/em> The finalists were selected by a jury consisting of photo editor artist and teacher\u00a0Marge Monko<\/strong>\u00a0(Estonia); art historian, PhD\u00a0Jane Vuorinen<\/strong>\u00a0and university lecturer in photography, author\u00a0Hanna Weselius<\/strong>. The winner will be chosen by curator of the Moderna Museet\u00a0Anna Tellgren<\/strong>\u00a0(Sweden).<\/p>\n The winner will be announced at a public event on\u00a0Sunday 27th April 2025<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0from 12pm to 4pm<\/strong>\u00a0at the Finnish Museum of Photography<\/strong>\u00a0(Kaapeliaukio 3, Helsinki).<\/p>\n The winner will be granted a prize of 2,000 euros and the other finalists 500 euros.<\/p>\n More information about the finalists can be found on the Photobook Award website<\/a>. The finalist books are also available for purchase at the gallery’s bookshop (Yrj\u00f6nkatu 8\u201310) and on our online shop<\/a>.<\/p>\n The award highlights the book as a form of fine art photography and as an independent art work.\u00a0 Our aim is to encourage and motivate authors of photobooks and to <\/span>invite the public to become familiar with the art form. The Award will be granted for a high-quality fine art photographic book by a Finnish or Finland based artist.
