The Finnish Museum of Photography and the Association of Photographic Artist’s present the Finnish Photobook Award for the eight consecutive year. Three works were selected as finalists, and two additional works received a special mention.
The three finalists of the Photobook Award 2024 are:
Henri Airo: War is a Disaster
Markus Jokela: Moments and Landscapes of Minor Importance
Nelli Palomäki: SHARED
Special mentions were given to:
Mikael Siirilä: Here in Absence
Jari Salo: The Monolith
The finalists were selected by a jury consisting of photo editor artist and teacher Marge Monko (Estonia); art historian, PhD Jane Vuorinen and university lecturer in photography, author Hanna Weselius. The winner will be chosen by curator of the Moderna Museet Anna Tellgren (Sweden).
The winner will be announced at a public event on Sunday 27th April 2025 from 12pm to 4pm at the Finnish Museum of Photography (Kaapeliaukio 3, Helsinki).
The winner will be granted a prize of 2,000 euros and the other finalists 500 euros.

The award highlights the book as a form of fine art photography and as an independent art work. Our aim is to encourage and motivate authors of photobooks and to invite the public to become familiar with the art form. The Award will be granted for a high-quality fine art photographic book by a Finnish or Finland based artist. The winning book of the 2024 award must be published in year 2024.
